Gynaecology

Gynaecology

Requiring the attention of a gynaecologist or being unsure if you should be seeing one can sometimes be concerning or just plain confusing. Women’s Specialist Group would like to assure you that gynaecology is an important and positive part of being a healthy woman and we’re here to help.

As the first all-female obstetrics and gynaecology group practice in Western Sydney we understand what you expect, and need, from your gynaecologist. We’re all individuals with different needs and that requires attention from caring, sensitive, committed and experienced professionals in a serene and comfortable environment.

So what is gynaecology?

Gynaecology is the specialist medical and surgical treatment of the female reproductive system and overall healthcare for women. There is lots of crossover with obstetrics so we offer an integrated service but normally gynaecology deals with the care of women who aren’t pregnant. Your gynaecologist is responsible for the medical care of your vagina, ovaries and uterus.

Patients may be referred to a gynaecologist by their GP for a number of reasons, many of which are routine but require specialist clinical knowledge.

Our experienced gynaecologists possess the most up to date clinical knowledge and skills. We also work collaboratively with other specialists when required.
